Teams of staff from five Countdown stores in Taranaki – namely Hawera, Stratford, Vogeltown, New Plymouth Central and Waiwhakaiho The Valley – will try to stay smokefree throughout the month of May, as part of challenge launched by the Taranaki Smokefree Coalition. The competition will run until May 31, which is World Smokefree Day, and will see the winning team taking home a top prize of $1,000. Each team and its individuals will be coached and carbon dioxide levels will be verified at critical stages.
