New DJ in Town

The PAK’nSAVE Stickman is going to air with his stage name DJ SAVE-A-LOT. The hour-long show with Robert Scott on the Breeze will air on December 9th and will see Stickman’s Budget Friendly Bangers Spotify playlist come to life. The playlist was a big hit with his fans on Instagram.

“His followers loved it so much that we devised a plan to spread the savey tunes a little further. For Stickman, he’s always dreamed of hosting a DJ set on live radio, and when an opportunity came up for him to co-host with The Breeze, Stickman, or should I say DJ SAVE-A-LOT, was more excited than kid a Christmas,” said Lauren Ness, PAK’nSAVE Senior Marketing Manager.

Stickman’s dream came true with help from PAK’nSAVE’s creative agency partner FCB and media agency partner PHD Aotearoa. He is the first New Zealand brand mascot to host a radio show - reflecting PAK’nSAVE’s out-of-the-box thinking.

“As a budget brand, getting Stickman on air for an entire hour during the Christmas season is one thing, but being able to turn songs from legends like Madonna and Fleetwood Mac into savey messages without having to pay millions in royalties – well Stickman’s hit the low price jackpot,” said Peter Vegas & Leisa Wall, co CCO’s at FCB Aotearoa.

The original Spotify playlist included tunes such as Save Tonight by Eagle-Eye Cherry, Meat Week by First Signs of Frost, Groceries by Mallrat, Food For Thought by UB40 and Shoppin’ Around by Elvis Presley.

“Stickman is just as passionate as we are about helping New Zealanders protect their hard-earned cash and is excited he’ll get to share some high-quality time with listeners on The Breeze,” concluded Ness.
