New World Wins Roy Morgan 2025 Customer Satisfaction Award

New World has been named Supermarket of the Year in the 2025 Roy Morgan New Zealand Customer Satisfaction Awards.

New World has been leading in consumer satisfaction since September 2022, a testament to its teams' dedication and the consistent experience it delivers to customers across the country.

This award highlights New World’s focus on providing a consistently excellent shopping experience. From fresh produce and bakery items to butchery, deli, seafood, and online services, New World teams continue to go above and beyond to meet the needs of New Zealanders.

“Supermarkets play a central role in the lives of most Kiwis. Although there are not many contenders in this category, the battle between them remains fierce," said Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine.

"Woolworths competed with New World and PAK’nSAVE, and in this hyper-competitive category, the winner – with four quarterly wins and an average satisfaction score of 83.1 percent – is New World."

Levine added that New World has been leading this sector since September 2022, and they have managed to maintain their satisfaction score above 80 percent while others have dropped back into the 70 percent range.

“Winning the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Award is terrific news,” said Giselle Bleakley, Head of Marketing & CX, New World.

“This award belongs to our people and the teams across the motu – the bakers, butchers, produce specialists, checkout stars, online pickers, and drivers who make every interaction with New World, whether in-store, online or on the app, a wonderful experience. We’re grateful to our customers for their trust and support and honoured by this recognition. We’re committed to keeping New World a place where everyone feels welcome.”

The Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction ratings are drawn from Roy Morgan’s Single Source survey of around 7,000 New Zealanders each year. The awards reflect the opinions of thousands of New Zealanders who share their experiences of the supermarkets they visit most.
