Organic Raw Milk Recalled

Lindsay Farm Organic Raw Milk (unpasteurised)

MPI ( The Ministry of Primary Industries) has issued a recall alert for Lindsay Farm brand's organic, raw, unpasteurised milk as it potentially contains Campylobacter.

These bacteria can cause diarrhea (often bloody), fever, and stomach cramps. Nausea and vomiting may accompany diarrhea. These symptoms usually start two to five days after the person ingests Campylobacter and last about one week.

Sometimes Campylobacter infections cause complications, such as irritable bowel syndrome, temporary paralysis, and arthritis.

Lindsay Farm brand’s Organic Raw Milk (unpasteurised) with a use-by date between the 12th of June 2023 up to and including the 1st of July 2023 have been recalled.

This recall does not affect any other batches of Lindsay Farm brand Organic Raw Milk (unpasteurised) or any other batches of Lindsay Farm brand’s Organic Pasteurised Whole Milk.

Customers are advised to check the lot number and use by date printed on the bottle.

If customers have purchased any affected products listed on this notice, they are advised not to consume it. Instead, these products should be returned to their retailer for a full refund.

Alternatively, customers can consume the milk after heating it to 70°C and hold it at this temperature for one minute. If customers don't have a thermometer, they can heat the milk until it nearly reaches a boil (or scald it) before drinking it.
