PNS Manukau Collaborates With Their Supplier Community

The reality of a second lockdown meant deeper food insecurity challenges for many New Zealanders.

“We know how tough many Kiwis, and our community, are doing it right now. We called our Manukau neighbour, Dave Letele from Buttabean Motivation, to see if we could work together to help feed our local community," said Stephen Lockie, owner operator of PAK’nSAVE Manukau.

In addition to a cash donation, Lockie and his team approached suppliers to see if they had any appetite for a product donation, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Avalanche, Tegel, Goodman Fielder and Healtheries, with PAK’nSAVE Manukau, donated 24 pallets of food to Buttabean Motivation.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our supplier community, and with their help we’ve been able to make an incredible difference in our South Auckland community to keep feeding Manukau families,” said Lockie.

The Buttabean Motivation team were absolutely taken aback by the donation.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the support of PAK’nSAVE Manukau because thanks to theirs, and their supplier community’s incredible donation, we’re able to help families who need our help the most," said Dave Letele from Buttabean Motivation.

“Community support is vital during these unprecedented times, which is why we need to continue to stand together and help support one another,” finished Lockie.
