Woolworths has partnered with the legendary world of Minecraft to unleash a new collectible sensation which New Zealand customers will be able to experience next month.
Minecraft has captured millions of players’ hearts and imaginations worldwide and expanded its reach beyond the screen with Minecraft Cubeez.
This physical collectible will launch on the 12th of February. Customers can collect a Minecraft Cubeez free with every NZD 30 they spend in a single eligible transaction in-store or online at Woolworths Supermarkets, MILKRUN and Metro stores.
Each pack contains one buildable cardboard block with 40 unique Cubeez to collect. Customers can build characters like Steve and Alex, creatures like Creeper and Enderman, and iconic blocks like crafting table and diamond ore.
Minecraft’s fandom has continued to grow with the highly anticipated April 2025 release of the blockbuster movie, filmed in New Zealand.
As the game’s mania sweeps the country, Woolworths New Zealand’s Director of Brand, Bríd Drohan-Stewart, said that the Cubeez will be a fun and interactive way for families and gaming enthusiasts alike to get hands-on with the popular game.
“We know New Zealanders of all generations are mad about Minecraft, and our limited-edition Cubeez collection will build a little extra buzz into their regular weekly shop.”
Federico San Martin, Senior Director of Minecraft Consumer Products, was also thrilled to partner with Woolworths to bring this exciting retail partnership, Minecraft Cubeez, to Kiwi fans. He said this collaboration was a testament to Minecraft’s enduring popularity and ability to inspire creativity and imagination on and off the screen.
A special collector case will also be available in-store and online at Woolworths Supermarkets. To fuel the fun, fans should look out for a Minecraft Cubeez foodie experience set to land in Auckland for a limited time in early March.
