AUSTRALIA | Woolworths has issued an update following the impact of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, confirming that most of its affected stores will reopen where conditions allow.
"Our thoughts are with those affected by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. We are working hard to reopen the majority of our stores in impacted areas this morning, where it is safe to do so,” a Woolworths spokesperson said.
The supermarket chain is taking a cautious, store-by-store approach to reopening, considering factors such as safe access, ongoing weather conditions, operational impacts, staff availability, and guidance from local authorities.
Customers are encouraged to check the Woolworths website for the latest updates on store operating hours, as these will be regularly updated.
With some stores now reopening, Woolworths has acknowledged that restocking and resuming deliveries will take time.
"We appreciate our customers' patience and understanding as stock levels may vary, and some favourite products may not be available straight away.”
