Metcash Acquires Daly’s IGA Stores in Victoria

AUSTRALIA | Metcash has reached an agreement with Daly’s IGA to acquire its three supermarkets located in Portland, Heywood and Koroit in Victoria.

Daly’s IGA is a long-standing, family-founded business with a proud history of serving local communities for more than 100 years.

In line with Metcash’s strategy of acquiring and operating stores, this acquisition ensures these three high-quality supermarkets remain part of the IGA network, maintaining their local relevance and community support.

The three IGA stores will continue to trade under the Daly’s brand, with day-to-day management and existing team members remaining in place. Metcash and Daly’s IGA operations teams will work together to ensure a seamless transition for shoppers and to preserve the community goodwill and trust built over decades.

Over time, Metcash may invest in improvements, equipment, systems, or refurbishments to support better operations and growth.

“We are thrilled to be able to retain these three high-quality supermarkets as part of the IGA network," said Grant Ramage, Metcash Food CEO.

"We’re looking forward to working with the Daly’s IGA team and continuing to support the local communities they have been serving for generations.”

Peter and Michael Daly, Directors of Daly’s IGA Group, were incredibly proud to see the three stores welcomed into the Metcash family and to know that the Daly’s brand, identity, values, and customer experience that shoppers know and trust will continue.

This change will bring added support and stability for our employees and the local communities my family has been part of for more than 100 years.

The sale is expected to be completed between late June and early July 2026.
