UK | Tesco is set to launch a new range of Finest Scottish wild venison in stores.
The new Tesco Finest Venison range includes venison fillet, Roe venison leg and haunch steaks, bringing the premium Scottish meat to more Tesco customers than ever before.
Wild venison is naturally high in protein and typically low in fat, making it a nutritious choice for customers looking to incorporate more protein into a balanced diet. Raised in Scotland’s landscapes, the deer roam freely across hills, mountains and forests.
The new range, supplied by Highland Game, will be sold in 100 stores across the UK, and will help meet a growing customer interest in healthy, premium-quality products. The expanded Finest range will also create 12 new jobs at Highland Game.
Euan Ross, Retail Sales Director at Highland Game said that as more customers seek naturally nutritious, minimally processed and high-quality food, premium wild venison is well placed to meet those changing preferences through its outstanding provenance, flavour and nutritional credentials.
The launch reinforced Tesco's ongoing commitment to supporting Scottish agriculture and producers. Tesco works closely with Scottish suppliers, from family-run producers to established food manufacturers and growers to help deliver great tasting, quality Scottish food and drink to its customers.
As the largest customer of Scottish agriculture, Tesco as proud to play an important role in supporting the farmers, growers, producers and suppliers who work tirelessly to produce some of the finest produce in the world.
“With the launch of this new range, customers across the UK will be able to enjoy great quality wild Scottish venison at home, whether that’s tucking into a venison steak on date night, or wowing guests for Sunday lunch," said Richard Wood, Category Director at Tesco.
"We see significant long-term potential for the category and look forward to growing it in partnership with Highland Game."
