ALDI ROLLS OUT SAME DAY DELIVERY

ALDI has partnered with e-commerce site Instacart to launch an online site and same day delivery service across its stores throughout the USA. The service will be available across 35 states with the aim of the site to be up and running in time for Thanksgiving. The national rollout covers 75 major markets in San Diego, Miami, Minneapolis, Raleigh and New York City.

“ALDI is a pioneer and a leader in creating a shopping experience that works with people’s busy lives. Our partnership with Instacart and the expansion of our e-commerce options are more ways we are meeting the growing needs of today’s shopper, who wants high-quality food at unbeatable prices,” said Jason Hart, CEO of ALDI US.

The new service is user-friendly with customers being able to visit the ALDI site via the Instacart app. Customers will also have the ability to select a delivery window that allows them to pick a time anywhere from an hour up to a week later.

“Bringing delivery to ALDI stores across the U.S. enables Instacart to grow its base of customers and introduce even more people to same-day grocery delivery. Like ALDI, Instacart is focused on delivering value and making quality food accessible and affordable to everyone. We’re excited to work together to further innovate the shopping experience with fast delivery and low prices for ALDI customers,” added Apoorva Mehta Founder and CEO of Instacart.

The discount supermarket chain has seen rapid growth over the last few years, with it being one of the fastest growing retailers in America. The company is investing more than $7.9 billion in remodelling and increasing its physical store count to 2,500 by the end of 2022. ALDI currently has more than 1,800 stores across the US.
