Illegal Tobacco Sales in the UK

Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has withdrawn its support of two convenience stores in the UK after they were found guilty of selling illegal cigarettes.

Supersave Xpress in Harlesden was fined £6000 after 400 packets of illegal cigarettes were found on the premises.

Maxi Food and Wine has its alcohol license suspended for three months after illegal cigarettes, vapes and viagra was seized.

JTI wrote letters to both stores, announcing that their advisors would no longer be visiting the stores or offering them any support. The company has been praised for their swift action and playing part in ensuring honest retail.
