Israeli start-up Zero Egg has developed a plant-based all-purpose egg replacement for food manufacturers. The product is said to taste, look and function like the real thing.
The growing demand for plant-based products propelled the food-tech company and has strengthened its ambition to create accessible plant-based foods that are good for the environment and are cost-effective.
According to CEO and co-found Liron Nimrodi, Zero Egg’s increased versatility and affordability separates the product from its competition in the egg substitute market.
The company is currently gearing its products to UK and US manufacturers and will focus on these before expanding to the foodservice industry.
