Following a number of awards for their 2015 range, Hawkes Bay winery Clearview Estate has expanded their in-house sales team to from one to three.
2016 saw unprecedented success across the Clearview range with gold medal wins at all levels of their chardonnay range. The accolades included gold medals from the Air NZ Wine Awards, the NZ International Wine Awards and high ratings from master sommelier Cameron Douglas.
A larger sales team means that there is now a dedicated team member selling into the Marlborough region and upper South Island and another full-time staff member focussing on Auckland.
“It might be considered taking coals to Newcastle, selling wines into New Zealand’s largest wine producing region,” said Clearview co-owner and co-founder Tim Turvey, “but we’re filling the gaps, especially with our top end Chardonnays.”
Turvey attributes the success of the range to the micro-climate the winery experiences on the Te Awanga coast, just north of Cape Kidnappers.
