There may be no fountains of Pinot noir, but the upcoming ‘La Cité du Vin’, due to open on June 1st in Bordeaux, France, is set to be no less impressive all the same. The world’s first wine theme park will be an interactive museum, or a ‘wine shrine’ as someone has dubbed it, featuring 20 themed areas, workshops, tasting sessions, a panoramic restaurant and a wine bar. To further entertain all wine lovers and their families, the impressive structure will include a simulated boat tour and tastings specially designed for kids, offering a variety of grape juices. Tickets cost 20 euros (NZ$33).
