KIWI CELEBS NOW BROODING EGGS

Kiwi celebrities, including actor Emmett Skilton and writer and TV presenter Kevin Milne, along with Antonia Prebble, Robyn Malcolm, Joe Cotton, Suzanne Paul, Ben Barrington and Jaquie Brown, are all backing up Safe’s free-range eggs campaign.
After Countdown’s Australian parent company, Woolworths, had announced its plans to phase out the sale of eggs sourced from caged hens from 2018 onwards, animal rights organisation Safe urged Countdown to make the same commitment in New Zealand. In response, the supermarket chain has emphasised that our free-range supplies, currently relying on a mix of free-range, barn and cage eggs, are not sufficient to meet the demand.
