Nelson-based Pic’s Peanut Butter has won a prestigious 1 Star in the 2016 Great Taste Awards. Pic’s Crunchy Peanut Butter was judged alongside 10,000 blind-tasted entries and ended up being one of the only two NZ products to receive an award.

Often referred to as the ‘Oscars’ of the food awards, Great Taste is organised and run by the highly-respected Guild of Fine Foods. Each year, the UK-based awards attract thousands of entries from food producers around the world, to be judged by a panel of over 500 food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs, food producers and writers.

“It’s great to see our peanut butter striking the right note with UK taste buds,” said Pic Picot, owner of Pic’s Peanut Butter. Pic’s has also been one of five shortlisted products in the ‘Grocery - other’ category, as part of this year’s Quality Food Awards in the UK. The product is now sold at five London markets as well as the prestigious Partridges of Kensington, holder of a Royal warrant to supply the Royal household at their residences.
