Mondelēz International has celebrated the 50th anniversary of Philadelphia cream cheese manufacturing at its South Australian production plant. The plant located in Mount Gambier produces 20,000 tonnes or 80 million tubs of cream cheese annually.

South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas has said that the factory is one of the state's quiet export success stories, producing for all of Australia and the Asia Pacific region. He congratulated Mondelēz International on the milestone.

The Philadelphia plant has no plans to slow down, with Mondelēz International investing $50 million over the last ten years to support growth and demand for the product surging since Covid-19. A third of its export volumes go to South Korea, Japan and Taiwan.

Site manager Adam Brocher has said he is humbled to work with a brand that is enjoyed around the globe.
