Sustainability Within The Food Industry

With a new focus on sustainable innovations within the food industry, Anuga FoodTec 2024, the world-class trade fair, has the theme ‘responsibility’. The selected theme encourages food and beverage suppliers to set a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. 

"This dedication is reflected in the extensive event programme, in which the participants can acquire insights into the latest technologies, science, innovative solutions and future-oriented strategies," stated director Matthias Schüter. 

The trade fair's reach across sectors will be extended by introducing new exhibition areas, such as environmental engineering and energy. All of these areas will align with the central theme of sustainable innovations. 

The programme has been designed to adopt the theme with fresh and dynamic approaches. Some of the featured talks are a deep dive into sustainable food production, alternatives to plant-based milks, sustainable packaging trends, and the evolution of environmental hygiene. 

"Through participatory formats like 'Bar Camp' or 'Open Expert Stage', these multi-faceted events invite a dialogue across industries and offer extensive possibilities for interaction," said Simone Schiller, managing director of DLG. 

The trade fair will take place from March 19th to 22nd and will feature two stages and a speaker's corner. All inclusions will discuss sustainability within the food industry.
