AUSTRALIA |Kavalan, Taiwan's globally celebrated single malt whisky distillery, has appointed Cerbaco Distribution to expand its presence across Australia.
Cerbaco, a family-owned premium spirits specialist with four decades of experience, will lead national distribution and bring Kavalan to more Australian retailers, bars and whisky drinkers.
Cerbaco General Manager Max Lennox mentioned that Kavalan is one of the most decorated distilleries in the world, and it still surprises Australian whisky drinkers when they discover where it comes from.
"That is the opportunity. Our job is to put it in front of the retailers and drinkers who set the direction of this market, and let the whisky do the rest," said Lennox.
"Taiwan has been making whisky at this level for over twenty years, and Australia has largely missed it. Partnering with Kavalan to change that is a genuine privilege.”
Taiwan's subtropical climate shapes Kavalan's fruit-forward character, while its use of different casks brings variety to the range. Kavalan is particularly known for its sherry cask whiskies, with notes of dried fruit, chocolate and spice.
LÁN Single Malt Whisky shows another side of the distillery. Matured in ex-bourbon, ruby port and STR vinho casks, it combines floral and fruit notes with vanilla and caramel sweetness. Through Cerbaco's nationwide network, Australian drinkers will have more opportunities to explore these different expressions.
King Car Chairman YT Lee said this was an exciting new partnership for Kavalan in a sophisticated whisky market that increasingly values quality, provenance and discovery.
Cerbaco's deep expertise in premium aged spirits and commitment to education make it an ideal partner to take our story to more Australian whisky drinkers.
Founded in 1985, Cerbaco represents more than 1,500 spirits and has a sales network covering every Australian state and territory. Cerbaco represents some of the world's finest spirits across every major category, from Armagnac to Cognac, whisky, tequila and vodka, liqueurs and aperitifs, calvados and much more.
