The ISM International Sweets and Biscuits Fair for 2023 has been postponed. The event was scheduled to take place in January. However, Koelnmesse and ISM sponsors have decided the new date will be the 23 to 25 of April 2023.
The entire confectionery industry is facing extreme challenges. With rising costs across materials, energy and logistics and unpredictable consumer behaviour, the trade shows date change hopes to create better certainty for organisers.
The one-time postponement will also shorten the length of the trade show. The event traditionally runs for four days but will be held for three instead. ProSweets Cologne is also usually held parallel to ISM and is exploring possibilities for holding an event in April.
"With the one-time date shift, we are meeting the wishes of the confectionery and snack industry and thus ensuring the greatest possible business opportunities for all companies and visitors involved. It is important to us to provide a fully comprehensive overview of the global market for the confectionery and snack industry and to ensure the usual high quality of exhibiting companies and international participating trade visitors," explains Gerald Böse, Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH
Preparations for the April event are in full swing to ensure maximum planning and an optimum schedule for ISM 2023.
