Amazon Netherlands has officially its opened Bleckmann's fulfilment centre, where Bleckmann will also take care of the operational activities. Bleckmann's warehouse is located at the XL Business Park Twente and has a favourable geographical location close to the German border. As a result, it seamlessly connects to Amazon.nl's international logistics network.
Bleckmann and Amazon Netherlands have signed a multi-year lease. The warehouse enables retailers to add new valued Dutch and international brands. Chief Business Development Officer of Bleckmann, Jurrie-Jan Tap, said that Amazon Netherlands will have access to more than 2,200 m3 of storage space from which up to 25,000 packages can be processed daily.
"In the long term, the warehouse will employ nearly 170 employees," said Tap.
The Amazon Netherlands head office is based in Amsterdam, employing a total of approximately 1,250 across its Dutch network, which also includes a sorting centre in Rozenburg and the new fulfilment centre in Almelo.
The Dutch logistics fleet has more than 260 vans, including approximately 40 electric ones. More than 600 million products are now available via Amazon Netherlands, and customers with Amazon Prime membership benefit from free delivery, unlimited Prime Video streaming, access to games with Prime Gaming and unlimited storage with Amazon Photos. The range constantly expands, and millions of products are ordered before 12 pm and delivered the same day.
