For over 30 years, the team at Bürgen has been creating and baking wholesome, tasty bread for its loyal following of customers.
The company has been part of Kiwi breakfasts, lunchboxes and everything in between, and now bids farewell to grocery shelves.
“We’re pretty gutted to be leaving, but mostly, we just want to say a huge thank you for having us at your table all these years,” the company said in its social post.
“Thanks for choosing Bürgen, for sharing it with your whānau, and for making us part of everyday life.”
Bürgen was launched in the 1980’s by Master Baker Doug Leighton, who created a recipe for the perfect loaf of bread, one that genuinely fused healthy ingredients with delicious taste.
Leighton respected the traditional ways of taking time and soaking grains, and combined these with his own inspirations and baking secrets to create a beautifully made, delicious and wholesome loaf.
