Join us for the upcoming Peter Mitchell Memorial Golf Day on July 31 at Windross Farm Golf Course, where we will kick off the event with registration and a welcome BBQ at 10am.
The day's excitement begins with an ambrose shotgun start golf tournament, promising a fun and competitive round for all registered players.
We are thrilled to partner with the Graeme Dingle Foundation for this special event, aiming to raise funds for Kiwi Can and establish the inaugural Peter Mitchell Scholarship. Peter Mitchell, a dedicated supporter of the grocery industry and an avid golfer, sadly passed away last year. As the proud owner of Review Publishing, the publisher of SupermarketNews and other magazines, he left a lasting impact on the industry.
By participating in the Peter Mitchell Memorial Golf Day, you not only get to enjoy a day of golf and camaraderie but also contribute to a worthy cause. The funds raised will benefit Kiwi Can, positively impacting the lives of young New Zealanders. Additionally, funds raised for the scholarship will provide a fantastic opportunity for those looking to further their knowledge and skills in the grocery industry.
The day's schedule is packed with exciting events. Darren Blomfield, the well-known cartoonist, will be roaming the course, drawing some great caricatures of players, a fantastic take-home gift.
After an enjoyable round of golf, the Clubhouse Bar opens at 3 pm, allowing everyone to relax and socialise. At 4pm, we'll gather for drinks, nibbles, and, of course, prizegiving. Some fantastic prizes are up for grabs, and an unforgettable end-of-play auction, where you can bid on some really great items with all funds going to Kiwi Can and the Peter Mitchell Scholarship Fund.
Don't worry if you're not playing golf on the day; come along and join industry friends and colleagues at the clubhouse (from 3.30pm) for the after-play drinks, food and prizegiving. Let's come together to honour Peter Mitchell's legacy, have a blast on the golf course, and pave the way for a brighter future for Kiwi kids and aspiring newcomers to the grocery industry.
