Casey Jeffries, Owner-Operator, Four Square Tekapo, was excited about working on growing the store in all aspects.
As the store was built back in 2017, the Foodstuffs team worked with Jeffries to deliver the fit-out from start to finish, which took about a year.
“We are super lucky to have a purpose-built building and are really excited about giving it a 4.0 facelift,” said Jeffries, who would like to claim the ‘unofficial' best supermarket view in New Zealand.
According to Jeffries, food-to-go has been a major highlight of the store, with the kitchen team whizzing up everything from sushi and pies to Pad Thai and bao buns. This space is going to have some new, exciting things happening within the next year to make the offering even bigger.
Snacks have become another growing category, with new and yummy options always hitting the shelves, from cheese chutney and cracker snack packs to chocolate-covered nuts.
At the same time, Jeffries noted that the plant-based and sustainability categories have become normalised in everyday markets and that there is no need for a specialised section for them anymore, as the range is so large now; the products have just migrated into the rest of the category.
The store also proudly supports local suppliers, such as Geraldine eggs and the famous Fairlie Bakehouse pies.
