The new packaging design is part of Tegel’s $3.5 million investment to drive volume and value across the board led by shopper and category insight. The move, which is the largest FMCG launch in 2016, is also accompanied by product innovation and extensive ATL and BTL brand support featuring print, TV, digital, PR and in-store activation.
As for Tegel’s product innovation, it includes the launch of the new Tegel Free Range Meal Maker and the Tegel Sliced Chicken ranges, which will be available in the chilled deli aisle starting next week, August 22nd.
Worth $7.6 million and in massive growth, the Meal Maker range is increasing by 17.7 percent* compared to pre-packed chicken (up 5.2 percent) and smallgoods (up 2.1 percent). The range comes in two varieties, namely Tegel Free Range Meal Maker Cracked Pepper Shredded Chicken and Tegel Free Range Meal Maker Classic Sliced Chicken. In line with the current range, both are priced at approximately $10 per 250g pack.
The second exciting release, Sliced Chicken range, is made with 100 percent chicken breast and comes in handy 140-150g twin packs with three different variants: Sliced Roast Chicken, Sliced Smoky Chicken and Sliced Pepper Chicken, sold at an RRP of $3.79 each.
