THE  Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has recently made a decision on a misleading advertising commercial for Unilever’s Dove Hair Care and ordered the tvc be taken off the air. As a result, the industry has been warned that it was critical to ensure all advertising accurately reflected any research undertaken on products. Although there was an evidentiary basis for Unilever’s claim on the product, the research was presented in a manner that was deemed to mislead the average consumer, the ASA found.
