New Zealand Football

New Zealand Football has announced that Procter & Gamble has become a partner of New Zealand Football and the Ford Football Ferns, showcasing their Gillette Venus, Olay, Oral-B, and Pantene brands.

With women's sports, particularly football, growing worldwide, New Zealand Football's general manager of brands and partnerships, James Wear, saw this partnership as an excellent opportunity for both Procter & Gamble and New Zealand Football.

"Gillette Venus, Olay, Oral-B and Pantene are well-known global brands with close associations to leading sports worldwide," said Wear.

"This partnership is a great opportunity to help promote our Ford Football Ferns further ahead of a big year for women's football, especially over the next few months."

Wear continued that being involved with New Zealand Football and the Ford Football Ferns was exciting.

Football fans will see the brands feature the Ford Football Ferns through in-store promotions across New Zealand, supporting the team.

"We are thrilled to have our Gillette Venus, Olay, Oral-B and Pantene brands proudly supporting New Zealand Football and the Ford Football Ferns," said Ian Eldridge, senior sales director at Procter & Gamble Australia and New Zealand.

Eldridge continued that at Procter & Gamble, the company aspired to create a business environment and world where equality and inclusion were achievable for all.

He said Proctor & Gamble moves close to this vision through partnerships like this. By partnering with the Ford Football Ferns, Proctor & Gamble wanted to encourage and inspire more women and girls to participate in sports.

"As proud sponsors, we look forward to supporting the Ferns at the biggest-ever women's sporting event in Aotearoa."

The Ford Football Ferns are next in action in Napier on 10 July against Vietnam, the team's last public game before kicking off the FIFA Women's World Cup at Eden Park on 20 July against Norway.
