Designed as an online grocery business to become a third player and alternative option for New Zealand’s well-established duopoly, Supie was placed into voluntary administration by its owner, Sarah Belle, on October 30th, 2023.
The Meat Box is owned by a privately owned New Zealand family business, Kennerley Gourmet Grocery, and was established in 2014. This privately owned company also operates a gift box company, Celebration Box and a personalised online cookie business, Hello&cookie.
CEO of Kennerley Gourmet Grocery, Wayne Kennerley, has accumulated extensive FMCGH and online shopping expertise, with previous acquisitions and this latest reflecting this.
