PRODUCT DOWNSIZING IN SOUTH AFRICA

A MAJOR campaign has been launched in South Africa against suppliers downsizing their products. They have been warned by consumer groups that the reduction in size and subsequent less content with no price reductions was not being taken lightly. Suppliers had argued that the reductions were introduced in response to demand for more affordable sizes. It was said by opponents that it that were the case, the reduced size would have been explicitly advertised – which it wasn’t.
