Promoting Positive Gut Health

LiveBrew is a new 100% New Zealand-made fresh, live and active liquid probiotic.

It delivers more than one billion living and active microbes per 100 ml serving to promote positive gut health. When ingested, these probiotic or ‘good’ gut bacteria help improve digestive and immune function, fight illness and disease, and may significantly improve a person’s overall health.

The product has been created and produced in New Zealand by BioBrew Ltd,  founded in 2009 by Andre Prassinos and Don Pearson, with the aim of developing the world’s leading probiotics.

LiveBrew has been refined and tested over 11 years of research and development with New Zealand’s leading research institutions, Lincoln University (NZ) and Callaghan Innovation.

The brand partnered with FOODBOWL, the New Zealand Food Innovation Network’s open access facility to prepare, brew, batch and bottle LiveBrew.

It is the only probiotic on the market guaranteed to deliver a minimum of more than a billion live and active probiotic microbes in each and every dose all the way through the shelf life shown on the bottle. This has been achieved by developing a unique production method that keeps the probiotic bacteria alive and active in fresh liquid throughout the entire shelf life shown on the bottle.

LiveBrew is a fresh, raw probiotic product, free of added sugar or preservatives (the sugars in the product are fully consumed by the microbes during the manufacturing process) , made with organic molasses, kelp salt and unique probiotic microbial cultures. Each one litre bottle contains approximately many billions of active lactobacilil, meaning just one small serving of 100ml delivers a shot of a billion bio-active microbes to your gut, guaranteed right through its specified shelf life.

Most probiotics are either freeze-dried powders or pills. These so-called ‘viable’ microbes, which are not alive or active, are vulnerable when exposed to the acid and bile in the upper gastrointestinal tract. As a result, fewer than that shown on the label ever do the job they are purchased to do. Freeze-dried cultures are also susceptible to rapid damage from exposure to air and humidity.

Products using fresh, live and active microbes, such as LiveBrew, can easily handle acid and bile challenges in the gut, and start working the moment they are ingested.

The beneficial species used to make LiveBrew include:

  • Lactobacillus acidophilus
  • Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp bulgaricus
  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus
  • Lactobacillus paracasei
  • Bifidobacterium lactis
  • Streptococcus thermophilus
  • Saccharomyces cerevisiae
