Woolworths New Zealand has showcased its popular Own celebration cake range in a memorable and unexpected way.
Ahead of her wedding, Gisborne-based bride Alexia contacted Woolworths to ask whether their favourite carrot cake would be available to purchase in-store so that the couple could serve it at their wedding.
While confirming availability was the original inquiry, the Woolworths team decided to go a step further.
Although custom wedding cakes aren’t part of Woolworths’ usual service, the team decided this was a request worth saying “yes” to, offering to recreate the much-loved carrot cake as a bespoke wedding cake.
“When we first asked Woolworths, we really didn’t expect this at all. That a supermarket would go to this much effort for us was incredibly special,” she said.
“The cake tasted exactly like the one we love, but seeing it as our wedding cake was something we’ll remember forever.”
This moment highlighted the quality, consistency and versatility of Woolworths New Zealand’s Own celebration cake range.
