UK | Asda has announced its range of Christmas Sandwiches for 2024 with returning favourites and two new festive flavour mash-ups.
The new, standout product for 2024 is the Let It Spice Festive Curry Wrap. This delicious grill-marked tortilla with succulent chicken breast, winter-spiced slaw, cranberry chutney, and sweet and mildly spiced curry sauce offers customers a taste of Christmas with a warming, spicy twist.
“The curry wrap is all about tapping into the typical trend of creating a curry with Christmas leftovers, so if you’re fed up with the traditional roast turkey and trimmings, then the new curry wrap is for you,” said Kathryn Saveall, Product Manager of Christmas Sandwiches.
Another new addition is the Christmas Club Sandwich, a scrummy mature Cheddar and Bacon onion sandwich with added chicken breast, cranberry chutney, beechwood smoked bacon, pork, sage and onion stuffing and finished with chicken stock paste.
For those who love a “leftovers” sarnie, Asda’s Boxing Day Sandwich with chicken (replacing turkey breast seen in Asda’s 2023 line-up), oak-smoked ham, a spoonful of creamy coleslaw, and balsamic onion chutney on white bread is the mix-and-match of dreams.
Other customer favourites include the classic Hog Roast Sandwich, which has even more Bramley apple sauce than 2023, seasoned mayo, stuffing, and fried onions, and the Festive Feast Duo Wrap, which features turkey breast and tender sausages with smoked bacon, stuffing, gravy mayo, and a spread of cranberry chutney.
The new and improved lines have joined the classic Prawn Cocktail Sandwich, the Festive Feast Sandwich, and the 2024 Good Housekeeping Approved veggie Brie and Cranberry Festive Sandwich in a new festive packaging.
For shoppers who prepare their festive subs at home, Asda urged customers to try the Exceptional Cranberry Sauce as a filling, which won ‘Best Sauce/Condiment’.
To make an extra festive on-the-go lunch, shoppers can snap up a singular Asda Single Mince Pie as a snack as part of the meal deal.
Last year, Asda sold over 700,000 Christmas Sandwiches during the festive period, with the Festive Feast Sandwich topping the leaderboards as the best seller.
