Tesco has announced the exclusive launch of a no-fuss avocado. In what is a world first, the avocado flesh easily pulls away from the skin once cut in half making it easy for shoppers to prepare and eat. Known as EasyAvo the fruit is grown in South Africa and is being trailed exclusively in some Tesco stores in the UK.
“Last year customers bought nearly 60 million avocados from us, so we’re sure that this fantastic avocado will minimalise fuss and make life a little bit easier,” said Laura Marsden Payne, Tesco avocado buyer.
The UK supermarket chain has been known for its past avocado innovations launching products like the avozilla (the world’s largest avocado) Frozen Avocado Slices and Zilla Eggs, (mini snack avocados packaged in egg cartons).
