SIAL Innovation has selected this year’s most innovative products among those displayed by SIAL exhibitors. Nearly 2,200 products from 942 companies were entered. A jury of 19 experts selected 600 products, among which 15 category winners were chosen.

Mama Carrot, an Italian-made carrot liquor that is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, won the Alcohol Drinks category. French manufacturer Sabarot took out both the Savoury and the Distribution categories with its mix of dried mushrooms in a pepper mill, Les Moulins A’ Champignons. As for the Delicatessen category, Sabarot won over judges with sausage-shaped, ready-to-slice polenta and quinoa for pan frying, Petit Polenta and Petit Quinoa A Trancher.
American manufacturer Divino USA won the Frozen Foods category with a Gelato-Filled Fruit, an original frozen fruit to take out, coming in five flavours; kiwi, peach, plum, lemon and orange. Also notable was Helipept, winner of the Intermediate Food & Ingredients category; extracted from snails, it helps reduce arterial hypertension without any secondary effects.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be announced at SIAL Paris on October 17.
