FreshChoice has opened its newest store in Lake Hāwea.
Located on Bodkin Street, the new supermarket will serve the community of over 2000 residents and provide a seamless and convenient shopping experience for locals and visitors alike.
With the next closest supermarket 16km away, FreshChoice Lake Hāwea has filled an essential gap in the community's grocery shopping options.
The store offers a comprehensive shopping experience, with a wide range of products, including groceries, food-to-go, fresh meat, produce, perishables, and an extensive selection of local beer and wine. FreshChoice Lake Hāwea also proudly stocks local products to support its regional suppliers.
The newly built 450sqm store is a state-of-the-art supermarket featuring the latest FreshChoice concept design. The friendly and knowledgeable team of 17 has brought this design to life. They are all familiar faces from the area and genuinely understand their community’s needs.
“We’re immensely excited and proud to fulfil our dream of running our own business. The opportunity is even more rewarding through the incredible community and location we’ll operate in,” said Matt Gallaher, owner and operator of FreshChoice Lake Hāwea.
“We’re proud to have such an amazing team with us, whose knowledge and relationship to the people and area will help us to cater to the needs and demands of the Lake Hāwea community.”
FreshChoice Executive General Manager Tim Cartwright said the opening of FreshChoice Lake Hāwea was a significant milestone for the supermarket and the local community as it expanded across New Zealand.
“Owners Matt and Dixie and their two young children are eager to serve their community. They live and breathe our FreshChoice values, and I know locals will love having them in the community, bringing quality, fresh, and the best locally sourced products to the area,” said Cartwright.
As Gallaher continues through the opening months and finds his footing as a ‘fresh’ owner, he has been looking to bring more local suppliers into the aisles.
