GLAXOSMITHKLINE (GSK) is selling its historic Lucozade and Ribena brands to Japan’s Suntory drinks group for around $NZ3 billion. Suntory already own other drinks brands such as Orangina and Schweppes. Lucozade was first launched in 1927 and Ribena in 1938. GSK is understood to be now focusing on its pharma and over the counter products and these drinks didn’t fit future growth.
