BE NOURISHED

As a mother of two children, our founder Joanna Nolan, became interested in nutrition in 2007 when she found herself looking for ways to nourish her family to be in the best health as possible.

What is your company background, how did you start the business?

“It was during this quest for more knowledge about healthy foods that I realized in order to reap the benefits of an organic, raw sauerkraut  – made from local ingredients – I was going to have to make it myself. Other krauts on the market I found were imported and pasteurised, which meant they didn’t have the probiotic health benefits I wanted.”

“It was from this need, this want to live a healthier life, that Be Nourished was born. Today, my team and I are committed to sharing their knowledge about the benefits of organic, fermented vegetables and producing nourishing cultured, living foods that are a delicious complement to any meal.”

What is the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?

“The current range includes five flavours of Sauerkraut, Kimchi and four flavours of Sauerkraut Juice. Be Nourished is proud that their products are organic, gluten free, raw, vegan, paleo as well as sugar and dairy free.”

Has there been any recent company news?

“We’re currently in the process of becoming certified organic through Bio Gro NZ and our founder Jo was recently interviewed for a segment on Healthy Food Guide with Carly Flynn for Choice TV.”

What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?

“We are currently working on expanding our production capability and our markets over the next 12 months for our existing customers we are looking to bring on some new fermented products. Stay tuned.”

Where are your products currently available to buy, and are you looking at or wanting to expand your availability?

“You can find Be Nourished products at stores like Commonsense Organics, Farro Fresh, Fresh Choice and New World stores around the country. We also have a list of stockists on our website. We’d like to expand to the whole of New Zealand so everyone can have the benefit of these foods.”
