No Bounty Bars

Mars Wrigley is trialling limited edition Celebrations tubs in the UK that do not contain Bounty Bars. A public vote said 39 percent of Brits wanted to banish the chocolate bar from Celebration boxes altogether.

The limited edition tubs will have additional Mars, Snickers, Milkyway, Galaxy, and Malteser bars to make up for the missing Bounty’s.

The company's research also found that 18 percent of Brits are irritated when they find only Bounty’s left in a Celebration box, and 58 percent said it leads to a family argument.

“Christmas is the time for giving – but it seems this year, the British public are keen for us to take away…Bounty. Last year, we gave customers the opportunity to return their unwanted Bounty chocolates. Now, off the back of public demand, we’re trialling taking them out of the tub altogether. You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone! And to those loyal (and secret) Bounty lovers out there, there’s still a chance they’ll make a return after the trial,” said Emily Owen, Mars Wrigley’s Head of Celebrations Festive Cheer.
