For the second year in a row, Lidle Supermarket has been named Hungary's top retailer by the local Trade Magazin.
Lidl reported a turnover in 2021 of 2.49 billion Euros, up on 2.28 billion from last year. There are 191 stores across Hungary, with five more added each year.
The Trade Magazin said Lidl "greatly outperformed its competitors."
Spar Hungary followed in second place as it opened the most stores in 2021, and Tesco in third with a turnover of 2.07 billion Euro.
