Coca-Cola Amatil NZ Named Most Attractive Commercial Employer

Coca-Cola Amatil NZ has been named the most attractive commercial employer brand in New Zealand in Randstad’s Annual Employment Brand Research.

Coca-Cola Amatil NZ is thrilled to be named the leading commercial employer in New Zealand, the only commercial brand named in the top four employers to work for in New Zealand from the 2020 survey by recruitment and HR company Randstad.

The annual Randstad Employment Brand Research ranks the top employers and industries in New Zealand, and placed Coca-Cola Amatil number one in the FMCG sector.

The survey also revealed employee sentiment about attractive qualities in a job. Coca-Cola Amatil was recognised for its financial health (1), job security (2) and use of the latest technology (3) as the top three drivers.

Coca-Cola Amatil Managing Director, Chris Litchfield, is delighted with the accolade recognition after what has been an extraordinary year navigating a pandemic.

“We treat accolades and accreditations as a compass rather than the destination. Being recognised as a top employer in Randstad’s research suggests we’re on the right track in doing what’s right by our people. The key for us is to continue doing so and not rest on our laurels,” said Litchfield.

The General Manager of People and Culture at Coca-Cola Amatil NZ, Susan Lowe, said it is great to be recognised as one of New Zealand’s top employer brands as it is a reflection of the company’s values and ongoing efforts on doing right by its people.

“Our people are at the centre of everything we do, and we’re focused on creating a work environment that empowers our people and enhances engagement and diversity. It is a delight to be recognised outside of Coca- Cola Amatil, and it is an indicator that we continue to create a work environment where our employees can thrive.”

“Job security is now front of mind for New Zealander’s and we are proud this was included in our top three drivers, alongside financial health and the use of latest tech. During the pandemic we were able to provide certainty by keeping all our staff employed and paid 100% of their wages, and we have repaid the $7.2M wage subsidy in full.”

Randstad NZ Country Manager, Katherine Swan, said what employees’ value in a career has shifted since the pandemic. Organisations who were able to recognise that change have done well and that has reflected positively on their employer brand.

“Our post lockdown research showed employees now value job security above all else. It’s been encouraging to see organisations within New Zealand adapting, creating new opportunities and using new technology.

Employees will be presented with a wave of opportunities, which will allow businesses to grow while creating a positive working environment for their people.”

This is not the only recognition Coca-Cola Amatil has received during 2020. The company was also named Best Employer accreditation for five consecutive years in an announcement by Kincentric and won the prestigious Gold medal in HRD’s Employer of Choice Awards 2020.

2020 marks the eighth year the annual Randstad Employment Brand Research has been conducted in New Zealand. The international research is conducted in 33 countries covering more than 75% of the global economy. The scale of the Randstad Employment Brand Research is currently the largest, independent piece of employer branding research in the world.
