The team, Checked Out Operators has lit up the race track for 24 hours at Hampton Downs. Lindsay Rowles, Brendan Lawry, and Jonathan Box hit the track with a 'lemon' car to raise money for the Foodies Foundation. Thanks to their efforts an amazing $40k was raised to support people in times of need.
The team got off to a fast start, moving from 38th up to 17th before a mechanical issue grounded the car in the Pit for half of the first day. Luckily with the help of a few helpful people, the team managed to replace the brake master cylinder and raced again on day two, which ended with a completed race.
As the cherry on top of a great day, the team won the prestigious ‘best-presented car’ award. So expect to see the car back in action next year.
