Cauliflower, onions, and pumpkin searches are up over 300 percent, and the vegetable category was up 200 percent.
The increase in the price of fresh produce has had Australians turning to frozen meal options as an alternative, with surges in frozen and ready-made meals up by over 300 percent.
These surges in searching for bargains and alternative food options are an undeniable insight into the struggle of the average consumer right now. The cost of necessities and groceries has quickly become an event leaving Australians strapped for cash.
“The reality for Australian consumers is that it’s tough right now,” said ShopFully County Manager Brendan Straw.
Straw claims that the landscape of grocery shopping has significantly changed over the last year and that users of their platform are keeping a close eye on bargains for essential household items.
“For Aussies feeling the pinch, catalogues are still a great way to keep track of specials and get more out of their weekly shop.”
