Countdown’s annual Suppliers Charity Golf Day has successfully raised more than $150,000 for Dementia Auckland, to help them provide support for people living with dementia and their carers.

The popular event, which happened last Friday, was organised with the help of Parnell Rotary, Dementia Auckland, and Titirangi Golf Course volunteers, and was attended by more than 300 Countdown suppliers who each contributed to the impressive donation total.

The funds raised will ensure Dementia Auckland can continue to provide support, education and socialisation services for those with dementia and their carers.

Countdown General Manager Merchandise Scott Davidson said the event is a great way to raise funds for an important cause but to also spend some time with our suppliers outside the office.

“We have been supporting this event alongside Parnell Rotary for 16 years now and have helped to raise much-needed funds for Dementia Auckland so that they can develop their services and meet the growing needs of those suffering from dementia.”

“It’s great for our team to be able to enjoy a day out on the golf course with some of our suppliers, who are keen supporters of this event. We’re already looking forward to next year’s!”

Countdown’s annual Suppliers Charity Golf Day has now raised more than $2 million since the first event 16 years ago.
