Czech Republic | More than 180 Tesco stores across the Czech Republic participated in the Autumn Food Collection, a significant charity event. Notably, customers received a five percent discount on their entire purchase of food, drugstore items, and baby food on the day of the collection, adding a novel incentive to the charitable initiative. In selected stores, customers could purchase ready-made packages at the cash registers.

The collection resulted in an impressive achievement, with 100 tons of goods collected in a single day, highlighting the generosity and solidarity of Tesco's customers. The company also donated non-perishable food to food banks with a total value of 250,000 crowns. The Autumn Food Collection, along with the Spring Collection earlier in the year, amassed a total of 175 tons of food donations.

Katarína Navrátilová, CEO of Tesco Czech Republic, shared her gratitude to customers, acknowledging their support during challenging times. The initiative's success was attributed to the dedication of store colleagues and volunteers, without which such achievements would be impossible.

The Food Collection event is recognised as one of the most significant charity events in the Czech Republic, involving thousands of volunteers, store employees, and non-profit organisations nationwide. In one day, Czechs collectively donated 624 tons of food and drugstore goods across various chains. This impressive response underscores the Czech community's commitment to helping those in need, even amid economically challenging circumstances.

The donated goods are now housed in food bank warehouses, ready to be distributed to needy individuals through over 1,100 receiving charities. The recipients include abandoned seniors, single mothers, families in crisis, homeless individuals, and those with mental and physical disabilities. The collective effort of the Autumn Food Collection will play a vital role in supporting these communities.
