AUSTRALIA | General Mills Australia has been recognised as one of Australia’s Best Workplaces for Women in 2025, reaffirming its commitment to creating an inclusive and empowering workplace.
This recognition came from Great Place To Work, a global authority on workplace culture that annually identifies the best companies to work for around the world.
The 2025 list was determined through Great Place To Work For All methodology. This includes confidential employee feedback, a comprehensive analysis of women’s representation at all organisational levels and additional insights from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency.
Organisations are assessed based on their ability to provide consistently positive experiences for women while ensuring gender balance and representation that exceeds industry standards.
“General Mills is incredibly proud to be named once again as one of Australia’s Best Workplaces for Women in 2025 for our Australian Corporate Office in Victoria and our Manufacturing Facility in Rooty Hill, New South Wales,” said managing director ANZ Karen Jenkins.
“This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to create an inclusive and empowering workplace where women can be themselves and feel valued, supported and empowered to thrive in their careers, while also having fun.”
Jenkins added that General Mills Australia has continued to invest in initiatives like mentorship, coaching and leadership training through its Women’s Leadership Network while recognising the unique challenges many women face in balancing career and family.
Additional tangible benefits include parental leave coaching programs, a generous paid parental leave program, and a supportive environment that encourages a flexible work-life balance.
The much-loved on-site Australian head office school holiday program is popular with parents and their children, and practices like the Friday 1 p.m. finish for all Australian sites further reinforced General Mills’ commitment to flexibility.
“We want our people to recharge and focus on what matters most because they are at the heart of everything we do.”
She said that workplace flexibility was also key in enabling people to do their best work while maintaining a healthy balance, which was why the company introduced the ‘Work with Heart’ philosophy. Developed in Australia and adopted globally, General Mills embraced a hybrid model that allowed its team members to split their time between home and the office and work in a way that suits them.
“Women play a critical role in driving our business forward daily, and we will continue to champion women’s success in the years ahead.”
